While I’m thinking about it, I figured I’d share my super easy recipe for homemade lemonade. Never buy that icky mix again!
Easy Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
Makes 1 Quart
5 to 6 medium lemons, juiced
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup hot tap water
3 to 4 cups cold water
Ice
Juice your lemons. I usually roll them on the counter first to soften them, cut in half then squeeze them through our vintage hand-juicer. Makes quick work of it. Dump your hot tap water in your pitcher. Add the sugar (more or less to your taste) and stir to dissolve. Add in your lemon juice, water and ice. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Sometimes I’ll add a sprig of fresh basil or mint for a pretty look and a little extra zing but its not necessary. Enjoy on a porch swing if you can.
