Holiday card design by TInyPrints
I was a little late getting our holiday cards in the mail this year, due in part to the nasty virus that hit me over the weekend, and also in part to the fact that it always takes us forever to decide on a theme for our family photo — this year we went for an over-styled, mildly Victorian-influenced theme (we didn’t get a card out last year, but you can check out our vintage throwback card from 2013 here)
I finally managed to get this year’s cards in the mail on Tuesday so I’m hoping at least a few folks my receive them in their mailboxes today. If you’re not on our snail mail list, or yours hasn’t made it yet, please accept our warmest holiday wishes via Internet.
Another holiday tradition worth sharing is our annual trip to Santaland at Chicago’s State Street Macy’s. We’ve taking Lilly for several years now and the picture is always priceless. This year, we added Max to the mix and he didnt’ disappoint.
Despite his initial terror, he warmed up to Santa rather quickly and managed to give the big guy a high five and a “thank you Santa!” before we headed out. Lilly, of course was a pro and happily shared her brother’s Christmas wish (a car) as well as her own (a Barbie house). Here’s to hoping Christmas is all that they’ve hoped for and more.
Finally, I wanted to give a shout out to our sweet Zoey girl, who turned six last night. More than just “the dog,” Zoey will always be our first baby. She is a joy and a comfort and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. We celebrated with a homemade doggie cake and squeaky toys. Happy birthday Z!
Anyway, I hope Santa brings you everything on your list (for me, that would be a decent night of sleep and someone else to do the dishes).
May you celebrate in a way that brings you peace and joy.
Merry Christmas to all!
